YAY, MARRIAGE!!! Being married myself, I'm a fan... :) It was really fun and interesting to draw a wedding scene. I learned a lot about different ceremonies, and it if weren't for the advice of friends and readers, this track would have been a lot harder to work on. So I thank all those who helped me make the wedding scene as accurate as possible!
I just adore Shuya and Musashi. They're my favorite couple for so many reasons, and I do admit I "squee" a bit when I think about their baby growing in Musashi's tummy. ^__^ I'm really happy in that I feel track 12 was able to give the readers a greater sense of not only Shuya and Musashi's personalities, but so many of the other characters' as well. I think it's safe to say that we know them each a little bit better now.
One of my favorite parts of track 12 was Miyabi's crazy American otaku encounter on the plane. I've met fan boys JUST like that before, and they have scared me. ^_^; However, the prospect of Orochi going to America to perform at an anime convention was too exciting to resist! I've been attending Sakura Con here in Seattle since 2002, and have also been able to attend Kumori Con in Portland and Anime Expo in Long Beach as well. I've been able to see several Japanese artists perform live, and it's always a treat when a favorite band comes to perform and I can actually go see them with my own eyes. That's why I thought it would be cool for Orochi to have that same opportunity! Plus, the stereotypical American con-goer is something I am really looking forward to drawing. Oh, it will be so fun to draw that scene when I get to it! >:D
Lastly, I must say that I'm a total sucker for Yumi's persistent optimism. It would be so easy to write Miyabi off as nothing more than a screw up, which Yumi may have been inclined to do if it weren't for the words of Sayaka urging Yumi to not give up on him. So what will come of that? Will Yumi and Miyabi become best friends? Well, don't hold your breath. But it is safe to say that things may indeed be changing, though I can neither confirm nor deny this statement. (I love ambiguity, don't you?) Anyway I hope you all look forward to what's to come in track 13!
